Sobukan dojo brings real Japanese mixed martial arts to Australia.

Sobukan is the culmination of 35 years of research into the world’s most beautiful, effective, and efficient martial arts. The founder, Chris sensei, has spent many years learning martial arts in Japan, Brazil, Okinawa and Thailand, culminating in blackbelts in Jujutsu, Judo, Kenpo, Filipino martial arts and several styles of Karate.

Sobukan is a dojo that brings all aspects of martial arts and culture together in a fun and safe manner. Members learn: – powerful and precise striking from Karate, Kudo and Muay Thai; – smooth throws from Judo and wrestling; – spectacular submissions from Japanese Jujutsu, Brazilian Jiujitsu and Shooto; and – traditional budo values. Classes suit total beginners and experienced martial artists.

One black belt martial artist recently commented that ‘there is nowhere other than Sobukan dojo that you can learn such breadth and depth of martial arts’. If you aspire to learn Karate, Judo and Jujutsu; If you seek a dojo that brings these together into one cohesive martial system; If you want to be part of a supportive community; Then Sobukan is your dojo.
