Kodomo no Hi Japan Festival Adelaide is held every first Sunday in May. This year’s event will be held on Sunday 5 May from 11am to 4pm.
Kodomo no Hi Japan Festival is held at Thebarton Community Centre – Corner South Road and Ashwin Parade, Torrensville. Find us opposite the Brickworks Market.
Public parking is available on the oval, with entry via Ashwin Parade. Disabled parking is available in the carpark adjacent to the community centre, but no public parking will be made available at this site. Please avoid parking your vehicle at Brickworks Market and use street parking where available.
From Adelaide CBD:
- Bus 110 from Currie St – alight at Stop 6 on South Rd and walk approximately 5 minutes to the venue.
- Bus 287 from North Tce – alight at Stop 5B on West Thebarton Rd and walk approximately 5 minutes to the venue.

For the safety of your furry friends, pets are not allowed at Kodomo no Hi Japan Festival. Please note that this will be enforced at the entrances.
Kodomo no Hi Japan Festival goes ahead rain or shine. We post weather updates on social media closer to the event, so keep an eye out and dress accordingly!
Kodomo no Hi translates to ‘Children’s Day’. In the nature of the celebration, no alcohol is available for sale or consumption at the event.
